What is CGOVAA?
The Charity Group of Virginia Affection (CGOVAA) is a non-profit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization under 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It was established by Americans in 2005 .
The purposes for which the CGOVAA is organized are as follows:
- To provide food, supplies and other necessary items to students from low-income families, orphans, disabled children, the elderly, and the disaster victims in Vietnam as well as within the United States or any other country
- To help unfortunate children from underserved families with the scholarships; and
- To promote cooperation among charitable organizations in advancing purposes similar the ones pursued by the CGOVAA.
The members of Charity Group of Virginia Affection come from a broad spectrum of occupations and backgrounds, including priests, nuns, teachers, doctors, dentists, lawyers, engineers, business women and students.
Our Mission
“CARING & SHARING with AFFECTION”
- Provides scholarships, vocational training, and other humanitarian aid to the poor, orphaned, disabled, and elderly of Vietnam.
- Support Vietnamese-American culture and children through community activities.
